Gabby Loeck has given her verbal commitment to Bowling Green State University. Loeck is from DeForest, WI where she is a strong backstroker.

Loeck shared with Swimming World,

“I am excited to continue my swim career at Bowling Green State University. During my visit, I was impressed with how welcoming the team and coaching staff was.  I am looking forward to being part of this team! I am certain that BGSU will help me achieve all of my goals – both in the pool and in the classroom. GO FALCONS!”

Her best times are:

  • 50 Back 27.25
  • 100 Back 57.92
  • 200 Back 2:09.25
  • 50 Free 24.80
  • 100 Free 54.13

The high school senior swims for DeForest High School under Coach Sue Winckler. At the 2015 Wisconsin Division II Girls State Championships, Loeck led off the fifth place 200 medley relay (27.62), finished eighth in the 200 IM (2:15.35), was third (24.63) on the runner up 200 freestyle relay and touched fifth in the 100 back (59.30).

She also swims for Madison Aquatic Club with Coach Shane Ryan where she has seen recent improvement. Her 2016 best in the 100 backstroke is over a second faster than the best time she posted in 2015.

Bowling Green finished the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championship in third place. When Loeck arrives in Ohio next fall she will join a backstroke group led by then seniors Elodi Schreiber and Franziska Wohlert. The duo were the team’s top finishers in the 100 and 200 backstrokes respectively last season.
